Making Research Fun 
Camp Durango is a grant funded research project at The University of Texas at San Antonio. Campers participate in research conducted in the context of fun, summer day camp activities while simultaneously targeting social communication, adaptive skills, leisure skills, and challenging behavior. Counselors include Texas classroom teachers, graduate students, and experts in behavior analysis.

Frequently Asked Questions

HOW MANY WEEKS CAN A CAMPER PARTICIPATE?
Due to high demand from families, campers can only attend 1 week. 
WHAT ARE THE AGE RANGES?
The minimum age requirement is 5 years old! We do our best to group campers by age.
How many weeks of camp will there be?
In 2026, we are hosting camp for 4 weeks throughout the month of June.
What dates and times?
Camp Durango is from Monday to Thursday from 8am-12pm
Summer 2026 dates are: 
​First week: June 1- 4
Second week: June 8 - 11
Third week: June 15 - 18
Fourth week: July 22 - 25

Does camp have any cost?
Camp Durango is free of charge! 
Are siblings able to come too?
​Yes!! Kids diagnosed with or at-risk for autism, and their siblings!
